NYSERDA, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, is a public benefit corporation dedicated to advancing energy innovation and clean energy transitions in New York State. A key initiative, NY Grid CONNECT, focuses on modernizing the state's electric grid to create an affordable, low-carbon, reliable, and resilient energy system by 2030 and beyond. NY Grid CONNECT promotes collaboration on grid modernization strategies and serves as a primary information source for grid innovation needs. The initiative assesses current and future priorities through stakeholder engagement, facilitates funding opportunities, and shares insights via an online platform. Originating from the 2017 “REV Connect” program, NY Grid CONNECT has evolved to address the challenges of electric grid modernization in alignment with New York's climate goals. The program collaborates with partners like Guidehouse, which provides advisory and managed services, and AGILe, a power systems lab that supports modeling and testing for grid technologies.
